Streeeeeetchingks, yaaawningks ...
One more day. Juuuuust one more day. One more small assignment (piece of cake, baby). Then I can slaughter creepy crawly scaly stinky things in Sacred. Or in The Witcher (which the boy just convinced me to go ahead and buy the other day, insiting that I deserve it ... I love that man.)
One more day. Then I can sleep. Then I can read. Then I can draw.
Then I can drool on myself for a little bit, becuase no one's looking to see how smart I am.
(And I am, really ... * slurpk *)
One more day, then one whole week of bliss.
P.S. check out The Witcher. You'll like eeeeet. I promeeeeese ...
* snort *
* wipes drool off of chin *

What a beautifully illustrated game. I note that in the opening frame, in which the man Geralt is seated on the floor in a room of stone, the woman in the portrait hanging on the wall in the background looks... remarkably ... like ... YOU.
Hmmm.
Enjoy your break!
She does? I hadn't noticed ... I must see it again ...
Started the game up this weekend, and it's ... interesting. I'm hestitant to knock it at this point, because I'm still only in the very beginning stages of it and don't yet know all the controls, but so far I'm not impressed with the actual game-play aspect. "Fighting" consists more than half the time of Geralt standing there with the sword over his head as his attackers attack, with words like "Parry," "Block," and "Too Fast!" randomly appearing over his head. He rarely actually strikes, no matter how madly I click on opponents, which is frustrating, but I'm hoping that as he "advances" his fighting skills will increase. He's supposed to be deadly good, after all. We'll see how game-play mproves with game-time and character "experience." It may turn out to be genius, which is what I'm hoping for,and pretty much what it promised.
But, it's sort of first-personish; although Gralt appears on the screen rather than you looking through his eyes, the screen still whirls and tilts and sways wildly with every move of the mouse, just like first person. This, unfortunately, makes me very very nauseous. I'm hoping to get over that, and since it isn't relaly tru first-person, I think I may be able to. For now I'm stil a little woozy after a mere 90 degree turn.
I plan to play the hell out of it this week regardless, and so should have a much better idea as to whether I love it or hate it soon ... :)
I could never play these games. I have too addictive of a personality & wouldn't come up for air for months. It's tough enough for my wife to get me to leave the PS2 display at Target. I'm getting pretty good at off-road racing, even though I don't own a PS2. The good news is that she always knows where to find me.
They're pretty addicting for me as well. Given the chance, I'll sit down to play "oly for an hour," and a few minutes later look up to realize that seven hours have passed, my butt hurts from sitting so long, and I'm hungry enough to eat the computer.
That's probably how I'll spend this Saturday, actually. Maybe Friday, too, or part of it. It's a nice escape.
