I need to get healthier, and one aspect of it is that I need to lose weight.

So I need your thoughts on this.

Today being June 2, is 5 pounds a good goal for the amount of weight I'd like to lose by the end of the month? Should I try for 10, or settle for 3? I know that losing too much weight too fast is unhealthy, but aside from extremes, I don't really know what "too much" would be.

Does 5 pounds in a month sound ok? Maybe 10?

My 2 cents is that it varies by person, right? 5 pounds in a month sounds reasonable, though, for anyone. I'm telling you, though... the easiest way to do this is to cut out the junk and eat more salads & other uncooked fruits & veggies. The 5 will come off effortlessly. Anytime you're hungry, just eat fruit & veggies.

I agree that veggies and fruit for snacking is the way to go, and am starting that today. Sigh. Goodbye Twix, my sweet sweet friend ...

Also, I just decided this morning to try one of the weight loss shakes I accidentally got for mattintseadt of the nutritional shakes he had asked for. Despite bad taste experiences with other diet shakes in the past, this one's pretty palateable. Kinda actually good. If I can still stand it by the time I get to the bottom of the can, I might start replacing my breakfast with one each day. Or at least work days.
